Long story short, my E2 Visa runs out two weeks before my contract does. What are the odds that my school can get this extended for those two weeks without having to go through all steps to extend it as if I was going to be here the full year? I'm heading home and won't be coming back, will a quick trip to immigration with my boss get it extended for two weeks without the cost of getting a medical/CRC/notory etc?

Heard that you can extend for up to a month without submitting the extra docs. You might want to verify this.

The NON working extension is good for up to 30 days and is free. You need to show your ARC, passport, application and exit ticket.

An extension that allows you to continue work requires all the docs (doesn't matter if it is 1 or 365 days).

If you wish to renew your contract at your current school, you will need the following documents ;

1. Visa Extension Application
2. Passport and your Alien Registration Card
3. New contract
4. Sponsorship Certificate (from school)
5. A copy of Certificate of School / Business Registration (from school)
6. Processing Fee
7. New Criminal Record Certificate, apostillized / embassy notarized (if not already submitted).
8. New Health Check Certificate (if not already submitted).

.

Thanks for the info guys. Thing is, I'm not extending or renewing my contract. My contract is up on January 3 but my visa is up on December 9. Because of the xmas holidays, I'll be outta here on the 27th of December. Does the fact that my contract isn't being extended have anything to do with it?

It is irrelevant in regards to overstaying your visa.

Your ARC expiry is the important thing. YOu have 3 choices:
1) Leave before midnight on the last date,
2) get an extension or
3) get fined,detained, hassled, etc.

Pick one.

Bring your ticket out of the country to immigration and you can get a stay of departure for up to 30 days.

So even though immigration accepted a contract that ends after the alien card registration, they'd make you procure all these documents again just for even one day?

That's pretty crazy.

How long are medical certificates good for?
