Hoo yah! DJ Shadow, my personal favorite dj, will be in Seoul on Nov. 14 and 16 and in Busan on Nov. 15. He's been here at least 2 times before (2003 and 2006) and is back for more. At 35,000 won (for the Nov. 14 show, includes 1 drink), it doesn't get any better.

Note that the 14th and 15th say "NO MINORS" and are late at night. The show in Seoul on the 16th doesn't say that and it's earlier. I'm guessing the 16th is all ages, maybe no alcohol? Screw that, though if the 14th show is stellar the 16th may be worth it for such a low price (with a pocket full of whiskey).

Also, screw you Interpark. You'll have to have a credit card issued by a KOREAN bank to purchase tickets with a credit card online.

What country doesn't simply take a VISA card? Korea, global country my arse.

what's funny is I just played the number song to my Korean coteacher who's like 28 and she was saying how in Korea only people in their 20's and teens go to things like this and listen to music like this.

and I'm like... err.... well.... too bad for THEM! hahaha
I'm 40 and I grew up on this stuff... musically speaking almost NOTHING has changed since the advent of house in the 80's and the evolution of dance/club music. Even as a 40 year old, you would have been there and "young" when house, trance, electronica and then rap and hip hop came along.

I want to go, but I was a bit disappointed when I saw him here in 2003. He basically just played tracks from his first two albums (he had just released The Private Press at the time). Any word about what the set might be like?

DJ Shadow doesn't rap, so what exactly is the point? He just stands there while you listen to his premade instrumentals?

I've seen him 3 times and his show is good. Once he played with Cut Chemist and they did a back and forth thing with old soul 45's. He puts on a good show.

I saw DJ Shadow in Boston in 2003 or 04? It was the Private Press tour. Anyway, it was BORING as hell, really slow, just put on his record, little mixing or playing around to make the beats different or faster and it was really low energy. - The crowd just stood there, no dancing or anything. He is a great album DJ, listening to "Midnight" on the the Metro here is pretty good after a long day. But hopefully his live show has gotten better, cause for 35,000 won I would rather go to Outback and eat a steak.

I have seen the Chemical Bothers in Spain in 2005 and they really know how to put on a show. Granted two different styles of music, but DJ Shadow could have done something a little more to get the crowd into it.
