Can someone give me some information about the requirements to get the tax refund being talked about in the last few days which closes soon?
What are the conditions?
I have worked in 2 schools in the last year (One a public middle school (Until late December) and the other a hagwon April til now) |

| Sucks I can't get it. You have to have paid taxes, right? I'm 4th year at same PS and still don't pay K-taxes. |

You have to get a statement of taxes paid from whatever schools you worked at in 2007.
Then you have to fill out a form that is completely in Korean and send that to the tax office. In my case, I just brought my statement of taxes from the hogwan I worked at last year to my public school's admin office and they knew what to do with it.
The Korean form is on the National Tax Service's website...but you have to go to the Korean page to access it. If you call the number on their English website, they will be able to point you to the correct link.
Just ask them where to find the form for the fuel rebate. |

My school just informed me that I do not qualify
because I worked in a hagwon before the public
school that I'm in now.
What a joke. |

I do have proof of taxes. My hagwon isn't bothering to help me. They said some crap that I am not qualified. That's what the accountant supposedly told my manager. Where can I find that form. I do have Korean co-workers. Can someone give me a link to the form. I am sure I am eligible. I want that money! Thanks! |

Go to this website and call the number for foreigners on that page. They speak English. They will point you to the link if you ask for the forms for the fuel refund.

That's how I found the link. I don't have it now, otherwise I would just give you the link. It's a little difficult to find, since the website where the link is located is in Korean.
For the person who said their public school said they don't qualify because they worked at a hogwan before...that's not true. If you provide them with the statement of taxes from your previous hogwan they should be able to fill out the form with that. At least that's what they did at my public school. My public school had the original forms from the tax office and didn't even need the one I printed out. |

You work for a lying scummy hakwon who listed you as a subcontractor and not as an employee...
Not sure when you finish but my school will need another teacher replacement in the middle of next March...

I sort of had a feeling. I am going to go to the tax office soon to check it out. I need a job by the end of November or early December for about 6-7 months, if that's possible. I don't care about a severance since I want to go graduate school next summer. I would love a public school job, but do you think they would hire someone who wants to be there for 6-7 months?
As far as my hagwon, the boss is exploitive, but I, at least, get pension and health insurance. |
