Yeah, every country is a little touchy on the subject of terrorists and freedom fighters. I had to shake my head at the several articles the "Joongang Ilbo" read about the "patriots" who blew up the Japanese dignitaries during occupation. It blurs the lines between innocent and guilty, that's for sure.

As we saw with that professor reprimanded for suggesting Korean patriots might be construed as terrorists in some perspectives, I don't think many Koreans would be open to that point of view.

As the commentor on Matt's site said, I'm surprised they just didn't stick Yi Sun-shin on there. Nobody would argue with that in a million years.

I was thinking about Admiral Yi the other day, and Se-jong Wang too. Do you think those guys actually designed and made the things they are famous for, or did they just commission them? Like, was Yi actually a naval architect, or did he just come up with the idea that a heavily armored cannon-ship would be really successful against the ships he was facing and tell his builders to come up with some designs?
Or Se-jong--did he really invent Hangeul, or did he just kinda get his boys to do it?

In the link, the 100000 won note is the same color as the 10000. Exactly the same. The cost of drunken misadventures are going to skyrocket if they don't do something about that.

Angry umbrella man in Itaewon!

He's the guy that demands that you give him 1000Won, and if you won't he'll chase you down the street and try to hit you with his umbrella.

This happens even when there's no rain! So fun!
