I`ve heard generally good things about YBM as a newbie in terms of being paid on time, being one of the better hagwons etc but was wondering about the housing?

I am thinking about applying for YBM in Seoul mainly and was wondering about the type of housing they typically give you. Officetels? Loft type apartments? or does it vary on the location?

Appreciate any views on YBM employees there currently

PS: I have done a search and have found info on the other aspects but little on the accommodation.

I got an officetel when I worked there in 2004/5. It was perfectly fine.

Ask to speak to the teacher who you are replacing what the situation is - you will generally inherit theirs.

Housing will most likely vary greatly depending on the neighborhood your school is in. For those thinking of applying to YBM and taking a housing allowance in lieu of company housing, be aware that you will still be charged a security deposit, even if the school did not front key money and could in no way incur any expenses related to your accommodations! They take three 200,000 won deductions from your first three paychecks. This is a point you need to ask them specifically about BEFORE you sign.
