I have an E2 Visa at my college. I transferred to the college after ten months at a hagwon. At the time I did it before the police background check, though I did get a medical check.

Later, my wife came in on an F3 visa.

I'm going to stay another year at my university. Is this extending or renewing my visa?

I am waiting on my CRC to come via mail, I know to go to embassy to swear an affidavit. That's taken care of.

Now what about the apostile on the degree? Is that needed? I've been here almost two years already and submitted my original degree twice. Do I need to get a second affidavit from the U.S. embassy to suffice for the apostile? Did the korean Education whatever already verify it the first time around and I don't need to do this?

Also, will I need to make a visa run when I renew/extend at the same uni? Will my wife on the F3?

The terms "visa extension" and "visa renewal" are both technically incorrect but are synonymous and DO refer to the same thing.
(It is actually an "extension of your status of sojourn").

You do NOT need to resubmit your degree on a renewal / extension.
You do NOT need to make a visa run. It is a simple matter of dropping into the immigration office, filing the paperwork and paying the fees.

f you wish to renew/extend your contract at your current school, you will need the following documents:

1. Visa Extension Application
2. Passport and your Alien Registration Card
3. New contract
4. Sponsorship Certificate (from school)
5. A copy of Certificate of School / Business Registration (from school)
6. Processing Fee(s) (30k for the extension and 50k for your re-entry permit).
7. New Criminal Record Certificate, apostillized / embassy notarized (IF you haven't submitted one already).
8. New Health Check Certificate (IF you haven't submitted one already).

For your wife (F3) you only need to submit her ARC, passport, application, and fees (along with your extension application). (fees are also, 30k + 50k)

.
