I'm still relatively new here, but the apartment they set me up with has a kitchen chair as its only real office chair, and it's really uncomfortable. Any advice on where to find a decent mesh office chair and somehow get it sent to my apartment?

If you go to Sindang station (line 2), go out exit 1 or 2, and turn away from the street into the side streets behind you, there's an area where there are many small shops selling both new and use office/kitchen/restaurant furniture. I priced out a new mesh office chair for 65,000 there awhile ago. Couldn't tell you the name of the place-- sorry. As for delivery, he said it would fit in a cab, or they can arrange delivery for about 15,000 depending on where you live.

Failing that, for about the same price you can get something plasticky (edit: and probably not mesh) from your neighborhood Emart, Lotte Mart, local furniture store, etc.

hope this helps!

What area are you in? I got a pretty nice office chair for 40k at the used furniture store by Noksapyeong Stn. They had tons of chairs, possibly even "mesh" whatever that means. Smile They delivered it and a desk for 5k but I live close.

There's only one way to shop in Korea....the Internet

Why?...because we want cheap stuff! When I furnished my apt. I looked at tons of used stuff, but after looking at prices for drivers to ship stuff around the city I found that it was cheaper just to buy new stuff from Gmarket.

I bought a nice office chair for $40....shipping was free!

The only thing better is to live in Haebangcheon and get stuff for free off the streets...it's amazing what people throw away!!

Thanks for the help everyone. I ended up buying a chair from a mom and pop furniture store. Turns out they were selling the same chair Lotte Department Store was trying to sell me for 240,000 won for 60,000 won. It was probably still a bit too expensive, but it was close enough for me to just wheel down the street a few blocks and then up into my apartment.
