Second time I heard of this. Think it's mainly meant to affect China but we are close enough. I'm running bootleg versions on two of my coms. So far no worries but, it could be troubling. I run partitions so I won't loose any data just a matter of finding a more recently hacked version OS and reformat. |

Apparently all this black screen does is change your background to a piracy warning, which you can remove easily, but it comes back after an hour unless you patch your machine with any of the myriad of patches already released. |

I love it...sue MS because MS knows you're using pirated (re: illegal) software and lets you know it. What great logic!
Plaintiff: Please Mr. Judge. MS is bad for telling me I'm using their software illegally. Please make them stop this.
Judge: So you admit to using MS software w/o paying?
Plaintiff: uh....
Judge: I don't care. I do it, too. |

I thought the thing about taking MS to court was a bit rich too.
I'm running pirated XP and I got all updates as of today just to check what would happen, and nothing did. I saw a new WGA update in the bunch, but my install passed the check |
