I am also using my miles this xmas..
I was kind of forced into it, if I didnt use my thai miles I would have lost 10,000 miles due to expiration.. now a trip to thailand costs 50.000 miles
I have 45.000 miles.. so they have asked me to pay an extra 150.00usd to buy the extra 5000 miles and with the exchange rate these days its close to
200.000 won..
then they want me to pay fuel taxes, as of the last time she called me the taxes were 280.000 won so this free ticket is costing me
480.000 won for xmas time...
now I could say screw it, Im going to buy a normal ticket for 600.000 won
and upgrade to business class with miles.. I dont know..
probably just save the 120.000won.. but I heard in the paper that the prices of fuel surcharges are coming down in november by 30% so I am holding off on buying my ticket until they have released the new prices..
from 286.000 won hopefully to 186.000 so then my free ticket will cost me
around 300.000 won, now thats a deal!
now I just need the won to come on strong against the baht.. because
1000 won to 24 baht is not funny! |

| Well I scheduled it with a travel agent, maybe you should call one. Bought the ticket on 10/13, departs 11/3. |

| I just booked a RT to HCMC for early January and the cheapest I could get which didn't include a very f-d up flight schedule was around 1.1M KW (inc. all taxes etc.). There were cheaper flights but spending a day in Beijing with a W150,000 visa for Americans, no thank you. Or, leaving HCMC at 1AM on my final "day" didn't work for me either. |
You can stay overnight in Beijing without a visa. |

| Really? I'm not a 100% sure. My travel agent said that if you want to leave the airport, I'd have to get a visa. Anyway, Hong Kong requires no visa and it saved me a bundle. |
