How can you get a cashier's check/traveler's check in Changwon, Korea to be specific?
We need to take all of my money from the bank and we don't want the employer to be able to get any of it, and we don't want to have stacks of cash laying around. |

My bank is Nong Hyup. How would you go about asking for a banker's check? No one really seems to speak English there... would they understand "banker's check"? Does anyone know how to say it in Korean? If I asked a Korean to write "banker's check" down for me, would they know what I am talking about?
Can you just bring them a ton of cash and (since you have an acct there) and they will give you a check for it? (with your arc and passport of course)
I don't want a money order b/c they charge for that... I'd rather not be charged for getting my money in a condensed form.
Too many questions! |

You will pay for anything other than cash.
Bank draft, cashiers check, money order, foreign remittance or travelers checks all incur an extra fee.
If you want a compact form, take out your cash and get US$ or EUROS in LARGE denominations. 10 notes = $1000 = ~1.5 million won. 50 notes = ~7.5 million won.
If you are at the bank and need help call their customer service line at:
1588-2100 ext. 730 for an English interpreter.

You can get 1,000,000 cheques in korea at the casino. Do banks have those? Can they be cashed in other countries? They don't cost a cent at the casino- just give them 1 mil cash and they give you a cheque. |
