Come on, I have a new laptop but I wait for minutes sometimes before posts are complete(if I'm patient enough to wait) in the evenings usually between 9-10 p.m. Is this the prime time for most Posters, what's wrong?
I think Dave is cutting back, could it be too many nights out at the room salons/Dollar Won exchnge rate?
I suggest an investment be made to speed up the process or can't a loan be gotten? |

Maybe they can't post now for reasons related to your post. |

It is always slow at that time. I don't know why. I don't really care. I just don't come here then. I am generally eating dinner anyway! |

I really love how "View Your Posts" works. It's so convenient. I really love it. Run around your chair ten times before hitting the back button. |

My prediction is that within 2 years Dave will suffer a SEVERE decline and within 5 will only exist as a hollow shell.
Please ask me why?

I know why. Because in the future, you will need a CRC and a sealed university transcript to make a post. |

Okay David, Why? |
Thanks for asking! I'm up late and drinking lots of red wine, celebrating my retirement. So here it goes!
We are digital immigrants. We love this little box , walkie talkie stuff. It is slow and stable enough for our very abstract and idealogical imaginations...
Now along comes (in 5 years or less), Netizens. They have and have been spoiled and have been filled with pictures, quickness, text 2 spk, communicability and networking...
Dave's will fall way short and won't even meet the basic door for entry......even at the moment, there is a dropping of growth (there are facts online check them out)....
I'd recommend a number of books on the subject , starting with Prensky's notions of the above (just so nobody thinks I'm hijacking these ideas).
Netizens demand pictures, buzz, IM, t2m, voice and video....you can guess what will happen when the demographics age and old Heartbreak hill marine who cannons the treads, dies alone in his apartment ....
But, It is all good (but inevitable...)
Cheers,
David

I call BS on your retirement Dave. People like you work until the day they die (which is usually around 110 years old). |

I like what you're trying to do but my god you have to fix your front page! It's completely overloaded and way too busy... it's like you've tried to stuff every feature your site has on the front. It's too confusing and you just don't know where to look. Also the fonts are horrible, get rid of the New Times Roman type font. Verdana is good.
Clean, clear, simple front page. Design is as important as functionality!
OH... and yes. Dave is cheap. VB boards are good and could also solve so many of the problems that are associated with this site. |

Dave doesn't frequent the room salons or hofs. He's been to Korea once, by the accounts I've heard. |

wormholes 101,
Thanks for the feedback...it is a continual "work in progress". We've had several long discussions about this - the font, the background etc.... But I hear you!
The site is NOT mine, but every member's, any one who wants to be involved and be part of a community that gets teachers/learners what is needed. So I hope someone like yourself or others will step up and no problem, you can have the keys and run with it.....
You also gave me another idea of just setting up a dummy network and allowing others to change and play around with things. With Ning it isn't too hard but it takes someone like yourself who has an "eye" for this and who isn't like me - designless/clueless... I"ll set one up shortly....
But many are using the site map and I'm glad I got that far and did that!
Cheers,
DD

Yeah, how does that old saying go? "You can fool some of the people , some of the time but you can't fool all of the people, all of the time".
Just next project For years I got so good at destroying, now I'm trying to get good at creating... The 110 years is a little conservative, don't you think?
