Beats me.
Maybe those who believe in fate and destiny feels that all our offspring are already "predestined", therefore, conception before erection. |

| On a related funny note, I have had several Korean girlfriends call my "gochu jang" (I CAN'T be the first one to think of that one!) "babies." Perhaps here in Korea the men have fooled the women into thinking that we gentlemen actually have the babies inside of us and implant them in their bodies. In which case, the babies have already been produced in our bodies before the erection, although in the case of the little middle school boys (and adjossies too!) poking and prodding at their member all day long, that should result in an increase in the birth rate here...hmmmm. |

I thought it was funny cause I doubt the arrogant *beep* of an Archtiect that said it even thought about how sexual it sounded. He was too pre-occupied with blowing his creative load in everyones faces.

Sounds kinda zen. You must first think, and plan (conceive: fantasize, get your best line ready, go out a try to meet ladies, get a job to make money to impress the ladies) before you get to get ready (erection: take clothes off, have money for the new house to impress the ladies, etc)to do the business that makes babies (more conception). |

just for you nerds out there, the qoute is from a guy called Robert Daly, who may or may not be the same Robert Daly who worked on Irish/English dictionaries in the 1800s (which would explain the odd use of words...it's old). But in Irish architect is the same as carpenter.
According to Merriam-Webster Dictionary, architecture is ~
1 : the art or science of building; specifically : the art or practice of designing and building structures and especially habitable ones
2 a : formation or construction as or as if as the result of conscious act
2 b : a unifying or coherent form or structure
So these days design before construction, none of this conception before erection sillyness.
but it might be a good one for a pub quiz, or as a riddle. |

There is an ancient belief in western culture, I think it goes as far back as Aristotle, that sperm contains microscopic, complete babies and that the babies simply 'grow' in the uterus. This was BF (before science).
