I didn't either for quite some time; many Koreans like to pretend their country is conservative and won't tell you that the prostitution industry exists and is big business.

It still baffles me how the cops in Itaewon just stand at the bottom of Hooker Hill and chillout. I guess that's all the ever really do anyway. Nevermind. |

Take a stroll across from Yongsan station any evening and you'll see businesses up and running, despite the "major crackdown." Some of the ladies are quite easy on the eyes. |

At least it's down from the 5% mark during the last set of raids and crackdowns in 2006 was it? |

Huh, I was in Suwon on the weekend, and passed by the red light district near AK Town for old time's sake, only to find it all closed (and lots of Middle Eastern men ambling around). |

To eliminate a red light district in Korea is like removing fat neon shoelaces from 1996 Jordans while still sporting a mullet, a cutoff Poison T, and jean shorts. |

Don't worry nothing's changed. They just call them "pool bars", or "coffee shops" now. |

Where I live in Super Sangbong, there are anmas, coffee-shops, tea houses and love motels everywhere. It's easier to get a handjob than it is to get a decent sandwich. |
