I hope the Republicans dump her, and she sets up shop as a right wing fourth candidate Smile Sort of a right wing to balance Nader's left wing, and keep the bird of state on a steady course.

I may not be the best judge of grade level. I always gave really difficult work and then graded really easy. I figured they stretched themselves, which was the point, and no one complained if they ended up with a higher grade than they expected. They were happy. Their parents were happy. I was happy not to have to deal with irrate mothers.

You are so cool.

Very Happy Very Happy

Anyone who ever had a bad thought about FDR?

A bad thought, like . . .

"Gee, FDR showed really authoritarian and poor judgment, at the very least, in interning Japanese-American citizens during WWII, most of whom were loyal."

Too easy. Cool

You, too.

Palin a GOP star, but little liked by center

With his runoff race ending on Tuesday, Georgia Sen. Saxby Chambliss called in the party's big gunsand Sarah Palin answered the call, stumping across the state today and tomorrow. It's a clear sign of her stature within the party.

Palins flash emergence on the national stage has left her as well positioned as any Republican to make a serious run for the GOP nomination in 2012, yet waning support from the political center may threaten her presidential ambitions, according to a Politico analysis of public polling.

Palin is atop a field of ten Republicans in a hypothetical 2012 matchup, including 2008 primary candidates Mitt Romney and Mike Huckabee, according to a recent Gallup poll of Republican voters.

Fully two thirds of Republicans, including Republican-leaning independents, want Palin to run for president in 2012, twice as many as back Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal, who has already made one post-election visit to Iowa, and about 20 points ahead of former Speaker Newt Gingrich....

Palin draws big crowds in Georgia GOP rallies

By SHANNON McCAFFREY
The Associated Press

(12/01/08 12:46:42)

AUGUSTA, Ga. - Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin today urged Georgia voters to back Sen. Saxby Chambliss in Tuesday's runoff in an election eve appeal that underscored her popularity within the Republican Party and the GOP's efforts to stave off erosion of its shrinking Senate numbers.

"Losing an election doesn't mean we have lost our way," the former vice presidential candidate told a cheering crowd of 2,500 in the central Georgia town of Perry. "If we are to lead again, we have lots of hard work ahead of us. Let it begin here tomorrow in Georgia."

Palin's campaign appearances for Chambliss - four total - were her first since she and Republican presidential nominee John McCain stumbled on Nov. 4. Georgia Republicans clearly were looking ahead, with supporters waiting in the cold for more than an hour to attend the rallies. Vendors in Augusta sold bright pink "Palin 2012" T-shirts and "Palin for President: You Go Girl" buttons. Chants of "Sa-rah!" greeted Palin....

Patti Higgins, chairwoman for the Alaska Democratic Party, said this morning that the governor needs to spend more time at home tackling problems like the state's high dropout rate and the migration from villages to cities.

"Governing is more than creating photo ops. We'd like a commitment that the governor is working," she said.

Ummm, in this case, I think it does. Unless you think Palin is the way, of course.

Remember, never overestimate the intelligence of the Republican voter.

Ahhh, I think I've sussed it.

Palin's going to run for president on a third party. That's the way conservatives do things in Alaska when they can't get their way with the Republican Party. Either they win with less than 50 percent, like Wally Hickel did, or they siphon enough votes away to screw the moderate Republicans, the better to take over the party.

I do think that after this election is over, she will fade back into the snowbanks of Alaska and not be heard on the national stage again. I have too much faith in people to believe that she will maneuver herself into a national career.

Both George Will and David Brooks have said she's not the right person for the job. If they say it publically, a LOT of other Republicans are thinking it. Many are kinda trapped into pretending to support her because they are Republicans. Their 'reservations' now will turn into 'ain't no way in hell' in 4 years.

More than a year later and she is still on the national stage. I guess you're not a fan of Bill Maher. He said it right, anything is possible because there are a lot of idiots in our country. If Palin do succeed and wins the 2012 election, what do you think will happen? I don't want to even think about it.
