Just heard I may be fined if I leave after my visa expires (before this I heard you have fourteen days, but I guess not). I already have my plane ticket for two days after my visa expires. I live in a small town and am hours from the nearest immigration office, and I have to work until five. Tomorrow is Saturday.
Anyone know if I can do this over the phone or online?
Christ... the issues never seem to end. |

1. The date on your Alien Card is the one that matters.
2. No you can't extend over the phone or online.
3. Ignorance is no excuse. |

you can do it online... a coworker of mine just did... you have to fax them some things and pay some $, but you should be able to...
don't have time to find out the exact process, but here's the immi webpage where it should be explained somewhere... oh, use the search function and search "extension"... good luck! |
