Has anyone shipped their computer from back home to Korea or from Korea to home? What is the shipping cost like? Is there any problems with customs? |

used computer - no problem with customs but shipping will be almost as much as the computer.
new computer - the customs duties will kill you if the shipping doesn't - get it here. |

I actually had a new computer shipped here in 2006 from Canada. Shipping was about $100-150 and I had to pay 92000won in duty. I looked into how much I would have to pay customs and was able to find it on the internet but I don't remember where maybe

I do however remember reading that if you are having your own personal computer shipped to you here in Korea, If you do it during the first 6 months that you are here that you don't have to pay duty on it. I don't remember what you had to pay if it was after that but Im sure if you look on the customs website you can find out. I think that paying 92,000 won for customs and $150 was alot easier than having to buy an English version of Windows and not having to worry about power adapters when I go home. |

Where did you get the computer? I know I've been having problems finding places back home that send stuff overseas. |

Yeah same. I just bought a dell this month. They shipped it to my mom. My mom wrapped it up and she shipped it to me for 150CAD (express through canada post). She put on the shipping slip that it was a lap top and she even listed it as that for the insurance.
I think it depoends on luck of the draw. Plus the fact that my mom rewrapped it and the shipping slip was in English may have helpped. |
