I agree...dont fly Cebu. My flight was scheduled for 10:30 am and it was delayed until 6:30 that night. They changed the departure time 3 times and instead of taking us to Caticlan, they flew us to Kalibo and then put us in vans for 2 hour ride to Caticlan. Needless to say it was a wasted day. On top of that, they didnt even give us dinner
!! Next time i am flying pal express no matter what the cost.

Sorry to hear that, but hey, that's why the Phil is a Third World country. I never had problems but hey, that's just me. I plan on taking a Cebu Pacific flight to the Phils late next month, but well, I'm also looking at Davao since I hear it's much safer and cleaner there.

I've had very good luck with CEBU PACIFIC so far.

------------

I've had BAD LUCK with PHILIPPINES AIRLINES...I had to book a ticket for TWO in BUSINESS CLASS because of scheduling situation, not their fault. Anyways, when you go BUSINESS, you expect to be taken care of for the significantly higher costs. First, the movie selection was limited to ONE, the one they gave you...then they ran out of 2 different juices that were my first two choices and the meal I wanted was OUT. I don't know if they served coach FIRST before BUSINESS or what happened..who knows. But regardless, I've had a better coach experience on nearly EVERY airline I have ever been on, than BUSINESS class on Philippines AIrlines!

Davao is pretty nice. Not as huge and congested as Manila. The Bagabo Hotel as Tiger beer mentioned in a previous post is 1000p per night and its right in downtown davao. If you do come to davao, pm me and I can help you find your way around.

Did you go to Bagabo Hotel? Pretty nice for location, and for what you get, fairly new as well!

I will certainly go to DAVAO again. I think Bagabo is one of the VERY few hotels I ever recommended in my life, and will continue to do so! Amazing location, and quality is pretty good for the location and price combination too!

I have a house in Davao, but I have seen the hotel. Its a great location for tourists. Peoples Park is wonderful too. Last time I was in Davao the location was a muddy field. Amazing what they did with it.

OP, you are expecting first-world efficiency from a third world country. You need to re-manage expectations - traveling on a budget airline in a third world country is not going to be a pleasant experience, hence the cost. The Philippines has great scenery, food and people, but a functioning bureacracy? Forget it.

I know vacation time is coming up soon and many of you are looking into ticket prices and availability for the Philippines. Check out the prior postings on this thread! Just a reminder to let you know about some of the negative experiences many of us have had with Cebu Pacific airlines. Buyer beware!
