They've been lying to us for years and will continue to lie for whatever it is they have on their agenda, to the detriment of the WHOLE of the UK.

You seem to be pretty anti-Scottish. You have some extreme opinions on the Scottish people. I'm no more anti-English than you are anti-American. I just know for a fact that we have subsidised the UK treasury for many years and receive a relative slap in the face for our efforts so would be far better off as a nation independent of the rest of the UK.
Scotland makes up about 8.5% of the UK's population yet it contributes just under 10% of the Treasury's revenue. That excludes North Sea oil revenues which are considered to be special UK resources rather than Scottish.
The oil monies that have been squandered for 30 years by the UK government could have went a long way to changing the fact that a quarter of Scottish children live in relative poverty and perhaps they could also have raised the life expectancy of certain parts of Scotland which equates to a grand old age of 63.
In fact North Sea oil revenues are excluded from the 'subsidies' Scotland receive yet those revenues are generated using an infrastructure that is bought and paid for with Scottish money from local taxes.
In 1997 when Scotland voted for devolution the UK government annexed 3000 square miles of North Sea waters rich in oil and gas and transferred them to English jurisdiction. This is yet another example of the raping of Scotland that has subsidised the UK Treasury for 300 years.

At the time the treaty was signed in 1706, Scotland was on the verge of starvation due to years of economic sanctions imposed by Westminster. We had no option; we had to sign it. I think, as Obama puts it, the time has come for change.
