|
|
I have a SATA drive that refuses to be formated.
This drive crashed and trying to fix it didn't do anything, so I plugged it into another computer and tried formatting it. It takes about 20 to 30 minutes and then windows informs me that the drive could not be formatted?
Screwed up harddrive?
I wish i could at least recapture some data on it. |

Sounds trashed BUT
when you tried to re-format it, did you erase the partition and start again or just right click and format?
I assumed you are using XP....

Vista
Well it was more of problem of booting. Trying to get it fixed by repairing the files took so long I decided to start from scratch. The installation (with a format) was interrupted by saying that it couldn't continue installing.
Then I plugged it into another computer, and it showed up but unformatted, i tried a quick format, no go, I tried a normal format, no go
For some reason my hardware is giving me problems these days. |
