When I was in korea, I often had alot of time to reflect on life. I left, and now am way happier. Now, my new job lets me enjoy just living life. I used to just think about my future vacaton in korea.

Lifes too short is repeated often enough to be a cliche, but this time its true. You dont have enough time to be both unhappy and mediocre. Its not just pointless, its painful. Instead of wondering when your next vacation is, maybe you ought to set up a life you dont need to escape from.

Life's too short to still be visiting this message board after you leave the country.

Don't let the security door hit you on the way out of immigration.

I truly doubt I am the first one to bring this up, as it is supremely self-evident, but here goes:

People who truly do live happy, fulfilled lives don't troll on message boards in a country they claim to have gratefully left. Something about this country or this board must have truly resonated with you for it to still have such a powerful pull on you that you can't just let it go and get on with your life.

For example, my mom is a lovely woman and very satisfied in her life. She is happily married to her high school sweetheart, is wealthy, and has a very rich social life. I just can't imagine her trolling on some internet board about how happy she is...it just doesn't compute. The thought would never occur to her. Not in a million years.

I agree...that EXACTLY what it is like. And who the hell goes back to their old school to watch kids suffer under a mean ex-teacher? I mean, really? Who does that? I was having a bit too much fun in college to go back to high school, and after college I was too busy to go back to high school, and now it's 12 years later and I still haven't been back. It doesn't seem terribly healthy to fixate on where you've been at the expense of where you are and where you are going.

Easier said than done, but very true. Although it is natural to look forward to things like vacations, I do find many here who want to get the #%!* out of Korea whenever they can, and thats kind of pitiful.
