I'm looking for some good movies to download to watch with the gf. We watched "My Sassy Girl" and loved it, but admittedly, my knowledge of Korean movies isn't that great. Can anyone recommend some good ones?

타짜 "Tah Cha" was great...gambling movie.

Old Boy is probably the most famous/popular Korean film among foreigners. Sympathy for Lady Vengance is also a good one from the same director.

Must see movies! I've seen them all, and they're greeeaaat! *thumbs up*

My girlfriend and I just caught "I'm a Cyborg, but that's OK" on TV the other night and thought it was GREAT! A lot like Amelie, and gruesome enough to keep us entertained to boot!

Marathon: a real tear jerker about an autistic Korean boy who recorded the fastest time ever for a 19 year old in a Marathon race amongst able-bodied and dis-abled runners. Bloody nice movie. You can grab it off a torrent site with subtitles no problem.

I really like Christmas in August.

It's a love story, among other things, I guess - it's hard to categorize. I thought it was moving, but it isn't romantic in a cliched way, nor is it melodramatic. I like the static camera angles in the movie, and I like the sparse script too. I think it's really good.[/b]

I like silly movies so I enjoyed 울 학교 이.티. (Our School's English Teacher) And a week ago, I caught 아내가 결혼 했다 (My Wife Got Married {but the movie's website parses it as "2 Husbands"}) which was pretty funny.

Radiostar (Thought it was funny)

My New Partner (Action movie, a cop movie with a son and dad combo)

The Bedroom and the Courtroom (Comedy with the husband as defendant and the wife as the plantiff)

A Tale of Two Sisters (Unlike the crap you call horror with American movies, I thought this one was scary)

Caution: Chingu is definitely NOT romance/comedy. It's a really great movie, but it's more of a drama, and even gets bloody in a couple of places. Are they speaking in Busanian, or standard Korean in the movie? I can't tell, since nobody actually said "bam-MUN-na."

the only movie I liked that's not already on the list is Spy Girl, but it's not nearly as good as, say, 100 Days or Il Mare.
