DaveMck I was being a bit of a smart ass with the three chord remarks. I remember one comment about AcdC was "ACDC proved that three chord songs can sound good."

Alex Lifeson is my favourite guitarist. I think he has a lot of skill and a much better feeling for what a song needs guitar wise than many guitarists who are considered to be much better than him. But then it is a matter of taste. I don't go around blasting people for listening to rap, pop, punk or whatever, so I don't get when people seem to get a little fanatical with their hatred of Rush.

Aye, mate, fair doos. By the way I don't hate Rush. I just dont care for what I've heard so far. Like you say, it's just subjective opinions.

As Dylan said: "Hate nothing at all except hatred."

fishead soup is wrong in that he's using his own self-professed love for punk rock as a measuring stick for what is good. apples and oranges.

rush is a good band. don't like them? nobody's nailing you down and duct-taping headphones on your head.

let's splice a few new words into fishead's original argument and see how it flies the other way around -

The Exploited suck!
What I hate more than their music is their self rightious (sic) fans who can't see through the junk they spout. Only 39 year old Slovenian junkies listen to these boring old punker farts who still think Margaret Thatcher is PM.

we could even word it like this

"The Exploited suck!
What I hate more than their music is their self rightious (sic) fans who can't see through the junk they spout. Their music is only 14 year old mall rat goth girls who don't listen to these boring old punker farts but wear that retarded shirt with the mohawk-skull on it because they still think Sid Vicious is alive somewhere in Venezuela."

really, if you're talking about starting a thread about a band that has never been good, you could type for days, weeks, months about the exploited. even by punk and hardcore standards they eat bowls of walrusdick and always have.

but instead - let's talk about one of the best bands i've ever seen live, and talk about bringing them over to korea it's just a quick ocean-hop away.

FUCKING GAUZE. they destroy any "punk" band alive or dead.

Well, I'd probably take Rush over the Exploited. I think they were actually thinking of coming to Korea but none of us wanted to bring them.

By the way, back on topic, look what I just found in Pyungchon Food Town.

let's keep it alive! now this is a thread to discuss GAUZE.

http://jp.youtube.com/watch?v=N5OEgmVWkN8

no band can touch them. last time i saw them they played for 90 minutes, stopping only for a few seconds between songs and not saying a single word to the audience. just thrashthrashthrashthrashthrashthrashcrashthepose.

He was involved in a train robbery escaped from prison. Ended up a fugutive in Brazil. Was stiffed by Macolm Maclaren for two songs be sang on The Great Rock and Roll Swindel. Belson was a Gasser about the holocaust and No one is Innocent. Never paid for the two songs he sang

so what on earth does that have to do with rush or gauze? clearly ronnie biggs is a tool - anyone dumb enough to get fucked over by that chickenhawk no talent malcolm maclaren deserves everything they get.

fishead soup thread flow chart -
1. start talking about something.
2. compose arguments a 14 year old girl who sniffs glue could trounce.
3. encounter opposition.
4. attempt to deflect said opposition with something thoroughly unrelated.

here's an example

1. "travelling is great. it's the best thing in the world."
2. "i like travelling because, i like, y'know, like moving around."
3. (other person) "well, wouldn't you rather focus on how much it could enrich your life? think of what you could learn from other cultures!"
4. (fishead soup) "cheese and crackers are delicious!"

done. dude, you should just start talking to ice cream.
