umm i don't think the prices have increased at all. $1599 was what my current book was listed at when i got it.

I disagree. The old low end model was 1,190,000. The new low-end model is now 1,580,000. That's a big difference. This new model sells in the US for the equivalent of 1,210,000 w.

Haha! Laughing

and for 1,580,000 won you get a cheapass Intel GMA graphics card!!!

Laughing

Well anyone planning to get a Mac for gaming is in for disappointment anyway. You're paying for a great build quality, software that's tightly integrated- so it 'just works', and for some, the satisfaction of having one of the best availble computers. Gamers should go elsewhere for all the obvious reasons.

It's probably actually the best choice for people who want to buy a computer to use and then treat like a household appliance. My parents got one a couple of years ago, and it's been a far, far better investment than any PC for them.

It's not for me though. I like computers as a hobby so it's PCs all the way. And you're right, they probably should put decent graphics cards on there just to justify the bragging about power that they do.

Sorry, yes the cheapest macbook has a dvd burner, but it has none of the new features that the other macbooks have. The cheapest NEW macbook is 2 million.

I've found that the actual price in Korea, if you can negotiate and pay in cash, is far less then the advertised price. Even removing the 3-5% credit card fee, if you haggle, you can normally get a decent discount if they know you're going to buy.

On the flip side, there's no arguing Apple products are more expensive in Korea.

there is no reason for any regular person to spend more than $500 on a computer unless you're a professional who can claim the depreciation as a business expense or a hardcore gamer.

the NEW macbook is $1299 for the basic package, but they are charging 2,090,000won for it, that is what you call a complete ripoff! there is no way $1299 = 2.09M won. i really hope the won picks up..
