Every small city and and county admistrative center is going to have something of a downtown, look around at these locations, there will be a few places that look good. Look for chains, or places the look like chains for soju and anju, or most small cities will have something of a bar or two, they are growing like weeds thesedays. You have to explore, and can't be afraid of heading into a place. Have a beer, if it sucks leave and find another place. |

I knew a couple od good places in Changwon then what is mentioned above.
one is Kahn. It is in the same building as Lemontree(or maybe the one next to it) near the Jungwoo building in the middle of the city.
Another is a Korean dong-dong-ju restaurant but the owners love foreigners and ae always very happy and nice. It is on the 3rd. floor of the Start building just near the bus stop in the middle of town(in front of the Jungwoo building). |

In April or March, head down to Chinhae for the Cherry Blossom Festival. It's only about 1000won by bus. |

Yeah, the Cherry Blossom Festival is a real hoot. You can spend two or three hours crawling along in traffic past cherry trees that look amazingly like the thousands of cherry trees you passed on the way to Chinhae. Then you can park your car and shop in the shi-jang for the same identical cheapjack crap that is for sale everywhere else, but at specially inflated prices. I highly recommend it as a way to waste a day in early April. |

Ditto the above.
Cherry blossom festival is way overrated. It is just too crowded(sounds familiar) and they have stuffed it up to become a major commercial thing.
Also, on a side note if the Koreans don't like the Japanese so much why do they celebrate a cherry blossom festival(where the trees originated from). Sounds a bit dumb.
The festival originally started out as a day for Yun Sun Shin and how he conquered the Japanese in the turtle boat. Talk about turning the meaning of the festival around. |
