It's amazing how many idiots on this board believe in science. Science is so limited.

I guess if you stop your study at the university level and believe everything that you are told science would appear to be all knowing.

Good for Oprah if she told another side of the sory on vaccinations. If you want to know the truth you need to look at many sides not just the one that science gives us.

If you have a better way of undestanding the natural world than making educated guesses, testing these with experiments, and then refining your guess based on the results; lets hear it.

Can you name a single piece of understanding of our natural world that didn't come from science?

I kind of agree with Bill Maher's views although I've never really listened to his works. I think he used to have a late night show???

But I do believe that Big Pharma is pretty evil and their more interested in making money then actually healing us.

There are many reports on alternative medicine (i.E. eating natural foods, not taking medicine, acupuncture).

I firmly most of the crap Big Pharma produces is bad for us and actually makes us sick. There are many good books about this. It kind of explains why cancer keeps on getting worse andd new disease keep on being invented. So Big Phama can keep on peddling pills.

Big Pharma and the Food Industry are the 2 main reasons why people are so unhealthy this day in age.

Google 'smallpox', and then come back and tell us how unhealthy we are. You hae a greater chance of seeing your children grow to adulthood than any generation before.

How about watching reruns of the Montel Williams show and believing everything his guests say? Or Oprah? I mean, they're on TV, and TV couldn't possibly lie to us, could it?

This is the root problem. There s a well documentd effect: in our brains, we often in time disassociate information from it's source. In other words, you may remember that science is bad, but you lose the ability to judge the reliability of this information as you forget the source. This is why constant attention needs to be paid to this sort of thing.

Of course, I've forgotten where I read this. I'm sure it's factual though. And you will be too.

Ever since I completely stopped watching tv, aside from the occasional DVD rental, I have found my intellectual capabilities develop exponentially. I am a firm believer that TV is absolute garbage when not used for crucial news purposes.

The array of socially constructed "knowledge" that comes from TV is appalling.

The record of science in delivering facts and technology more than stands up to even harsh scrutiny, in complete contrast to your pathetic and irritating twaddle.
