After seeing Chris Rock's recent "Kill The Messenger" HBO standup, there's no question in my mind that he is a true master of the craft, and is the greatest working comedian in America today.

Mitch Hedberg is a personal favorite as well, R.I.P. Crying or Very sad

Robin Williams ripped his whole act off of Jonathan Winters. Guilty as charged, kid--if you don't believe it, check it out on youtube.

Funniest of all time:

Richard Pryor, Sam Kinison, Bill Hicks, Don Rickles, and the fifth always changes.

Ugh... Mitch Hedberg is terrible. How do people actually think that guy is funny?

Robert Schimmel. Frigging hilarious. Everyone nees to know this guy. Greg Giraldo, Lisa Lampinelli, Chris Rock. Jamie Foxx is actually really good at standup. Jim Norton (so-so delivery, but great jokes). Nick Dipaulo.

Anyone see Norm McDonald intentionally bomb at the Bob Saget roast? Funniest thing I've ever seen.

The late great Bill Hicks and George Carlin without a doubt.

Dennis Miller just ripped off Hicks.

But if you want something realy contemporary just observe and listen to most of the septic tanks you'll run into over here. There hillarious in a hundred different ways (sunglasses in bars, hankies on heads, "look at me" shouting et al)
They're just the funniest thing........
