I'm pushing 50 so far. It's pretty addictive.
Is anyone else sitting there and refreshing their favourite news source over and over again because of the election? How many times do you think you've refreshed so far? |

I'm refreshing the 538 too... but Blogger was having some overloading issues and I keep getting a 404. |

The suspense is killing me. Why couldn't it all be over before I woke up?
CNN is wearing out my mouse too. |

Yeah, my WASD keys are already worn out from computer games... my school's mouse is next!
I think it's a safe win for Obama, though. The FiveThirtyEight just said that everything is going as was predicted, which is a strong Obama win. My co-worker just told me that Americans are all buying guns like crazy before Obama wins so they don't have to face the new gun laws come January |

I read that once there is a clear winner in the Southeastern States, then the winner will be known. The most contested and most important states are in the Southeast, and the outcome of those (even in Exit Polling) will gaurantee the winner.
I mean, what's West, anyway? California? Like there is a chance CALIFORNIA is going to vote Republican Good ol' reliable Hollywood hippies. |

It's a foregone conclusion that Obama is going to win.
What will happen is that he'll get the Eastern coastal states with larger populations. Then, as they move to the interior of the USA, McCain will gain or overtake his numbers. Soon, however, it will become obvious that Obama has taken a few more interior states than expected. As they near the West coast, and Obama wins some key states, followed by huge states, it'll be all over. |

Florida is extremely important at this point. I'm just waiting for that bastard to turn blue.
A lot of polls are saying it's going to Obama, though. Here's hoping! |

By the way, notice how McCain has far fewer electoral votes, and a higher popular vote number? (this changes by the minute though)
I remember how the Democrats bitched and whined about it not being far, how Gore should have won, etc.
Do you suppose they'll do the same if it happens the other way around this time? Perhaps they'll give the election to McCain, thinking it's unfair should he win the popular vote? |

Today is one of those days I am very happy to have invested in a slingbox. I am watching all the live coverage, switching back between NBC with Brian Williams and CNN coverage. This is a really exciting day, very proud to be an American. |

It's going to be close but I don't think McCain is going to get the popular vote at the end of the day. Besides, every news agency and pollster has made it extra clear this time that Electoral Votes are the way to go and Popular Votes aren't (in terms of importance). It's a collective effort to avoid confusion.
Some polling websites hardly make mention of the popular vote, as I've been noticing. |
