It's a foregone conclusion that Obama is going to win.

What will happen is that he'll get the Eastern coastal states with larger populations. Then, as they move to the interior of the USA, McCain will gain or overtake his numbers. Soon, however, it will become obvious that Obama has taken a few more interior states than expected. As they near the West coast, and Obama wins some key states, followed by huge states, it'll be all over.

Florida is extremely important at this point. I'm just waiting for that bastard to turn blue.

A lot of polls are saying it's going to Obama, though. Here's hoping!

Florida is generally a good indicator of the USA (in recent years). Look at how many more red counties McCain has, but Obama has the few areas with larger populations. That's how it works in the USA, generally.

Some polling websites hardly make mention of the popular vote, as I've been noticing.

If roles were reversed, and the Dems stood to lose in the same manner as 2000, while gaining more popular vote, they would show them.

I think both candidates are idiots. The only person to address the fact the USA is broke was Ron Paul. With our debt, social security, and medicare, we have 60 to 70 trillion in unfunded liabilities. Our fiscal situation is untenable, and nobody wants to address it. Time to sell California, the at least the southern part of it. It's already Mexico anyways.

It's going to be an interesting next 10 years or so. I am glad I don't have any kids to worry about.

I'm pushing 50 so far. It's pretty addictive.

Is anyone else sitting there and refreshing their favourite news source over and over again because of the election? How many times do you think you've refreshed so far?

ditto..!!

I'm supposed to fucking BE there! a part of history! I donated to the campaign!

(btw.. I've always voted GOP except 2004, which was a protest vote)

NO MORE.

btw..
this is over.

With Ohio, PA and New Mexico going to Obama it's in the bag.
Now it's a matter of how much. how big

FLA is likely to go Dem... Indiana will go down to the wire (INDIANA!)

NC and Virginia are also super tight. (more traditionally GOP states)

but I'm soaking every report and comment I can, along with every image of Grant Park.

btw - this is also streaming live on NBC,, so go to msnbc site and you can take in their own coverage,, or the parent network's nbc.

not quite.

what's being summarily rejected is the very definition of ANTI libertarianism - the Bush administration and all the Cogressional GOP crackpots.

war on "drugs".
the Terry Schiavo congressional interference fiasco.
religious lunatics dominating the GOP

spying on citiziens, govt in bedroom.

massive govt bailouts.
preposterous deficit spending.

country building and military adventurism.

these are ALL things that go completely AGAINST libertarianism.

and socially anyways.. most Americans are VERY libertarian.
