Hi,
So I'm due to have some form of phone interview tomorrow morning with the director and current english teacher, what are the key questions I need to ask? I have a few already but I am bound to overlook something.

I'd have a mass of questions written before you take the call as it's far to easy to forget them off the top of your head. Also, they may cover a lot of the questions you would have asked through general chit-chat.

ask absolutely everything:

class size, curriculum, student abilities, age of students, disciplinary measures, hours of work, overtime pay - any marking/report cards/phone calls etc to be made
do you have to work any weekends? how long is a lesson?
how are you trained?
reimbursement policy for flights and severance pay


location of nearest subway, distance from school to flat, size of the flat, what furnishings etc come with it, what shopping is around/nightlife?

tax rate, receipts provided for taxes, pension, medical. can holidays be pre-planned or just on an ad-hoc basis?

when is payday and is it on time?
can you have the email address of a current or former teacher working there - i find this easier than speaking to them of the phone while the director is also in the room.

just ask everything you can possibly think of - better ask now than be sorry later

Are staff meeting mandatory? Do you have to attend MT sessions in the mountains. That kind of stuff.
