Why did Obama do so well?

The US had a bunch of idiots running / ruining the place for the last 8 years.

Only the gun nuts and bible idiots are not happy with result.

If you say so.

Seems about right though.

Yep, it's exciting that Obama got it as this might mean some positive change such as putting the government, markets, and economy back in order.

Obama got it, because people widely believe his administration will put things back togethor to allow economic growth, jobs growth, and promotion of a fair and equitable capitalist economy like the way it once was years ago. This would mean college graduates can get good jobs and most people would be adequately employed at their level of skills, abilities, and qualifications which would fuel the economy to chug along quite well into our retirements. Isn't it better if I make an extra $20,000 a year for my spending money instead of putting that on a credit card while I save another $10,000 cash out of the extra $20,000 above my living cost instead of struggling on a meager $18,000 a year for a job that's worth $50,000 to $100,000? I thought so....

Americans at home are surprised when I tell them I have $10,000 a year pocket spending money and another $15,000 to save, because most Americans don't have anything extra other than credit and that gig is up unless you're high income with a FICO score. I say, this is how it needs to be where you get plenty of jobs with adequate level of employment, pay, and benefits as that's the core needs of each indiviual and the country. CEO's can't continue to take all like they've been doing for about 8 years...

I ran into a guy I went to high school with and he said that he voted for Obama. I told him, "I'm surprised. Most people around here seem all up on McCain's nuts." He said that he hadn't put much thought into it until one night recently when he was talking dirty on the phone with one of his girlfriends and there was a moan from a third person on the line. He said that he's been over to her house a lot of times and that he knows for a fact that she only has one landline. He said he didn't care personally, but it freaked her out and ruined the moment. He blamed it on the Patriot Act and Bush specifically. He said it was his first time ever voting and he's 32 or 33.

I'm such a ham, I think it would be cool to have a phone sex audience, but I guess it's not for everyone. So, sexually repressed Republicans eavesdropping and getting off on phone sex got Obama one vote.

You're right. He voted for McCain because the economy is so wonderful and he's impressed at how well our military is doing in wars these days. Wink

Over the next few years, I predict millions of jobs will be created during Obama's administration, especially in the field of alternative energy.

Oh, and what's so bad about Socialism anyway? Laughing

98% to 99% of voters voted for socialist parties. What more can you ask for?

What's your phone number? I'm going to the Tennessee football game this weekend, but I'll run into him at the nightclub next weekend and we'll call you collect and I'll hand him the phone and let him tell you.

I agree with all those who said either directly or indirectly that it was the "inclusive" voice and message of Obama that worked magic.

Also, another thing that I think made him do so well was that......... he wasn't "really" black.

Okay, I'll be knocked around for saying what everyone is only thinking but still, in America, a black guy who was born and raised in the inner cities would never get elected. Never. Not yet. But I think this baby step is going to speed that up..... Seeing Jessie's tears really was touching and I feel for the guy...

We all know Georgie helped Obama the most, but besides that -- why did Obama do so well?
