I think they'll be apprehensive because they know FTA is not going through as-is. They might really be regretting the beef protests.
Only two days ago Obama mentioned how "our cars need to be made in America, not Korea and Japan." |

I get the feeling a lot of people who were previously labeled anti-American will be suddenly pro-American, and a lot of people who were previously labeled pro-American will suddenly be protesting the Soviet States of America. |

I believe most Koreans wanted McCain as president as he would continue economic policies that indirectly benefit Korea. The laizze faire policies of Bushonomics allowed for Americans to take out too much debt to buy all this shit from Asia while promoting for sending jobs and operations overseas. It truly destroyed value in America while adding it to Asian countries. This is not of interest to your average or majority of Americans; only the upper crust elite like things the way they are going.
My principal told me this morning Korea hopes to see McCain win as he'll keep the ball rolling for the Korean economy. He actually wanted to talk politics while I was teaching a 3rd grade class!! LMAO! I explained that America has had enough of the nonsense of Bushonomics and it's time for change which will be indirectly bad for Korea. Bad in the form of Americans not taking out huge debt to buy Korean products while we may take a more protective stance on economics to protect us from getting too poor of a job market and economy. Obama will also have to promote domestic economic growth as a means for individuals and the country to get out of debt and start building asset value such as saving money, investing domestically, and living within our means at an acceptable standard. Bush promoted huge economic growth, but only in Asia; not America. While Asia has been having this boom since the IMF 10 years ago, America has been losing and going down. It's a zero sum game where when we buy too much Asian products and send our jobs to Asia, our country loses value dollar for dollar. This leads to job losses, lower pay, and increasing debts. |

Strange, I don't think I've seen a single Korean McCain supporter yet. |

Because he's a Cult of Personality. Koreans are generally ignorant about the real issues, as far as I've seen. |

Obama is an idiot. Cars ARE made here. Last I saw, Toyota and Honda have plants IN THE US that employ US workers to build their cars.
Obama is going to cripple business in the US. While US businesses get the shaft, foreign companies are going to grow and proliferate.

I'm not sure he does. Foreign car manufacturers employ a LOT of Americans. "... cars need to be made in America, not Korea and Japan." Well, we can see all the Auto Mechanics voted for Obama. American cars have such a reputation for reliability, safety, and efficiency.
My first car was a Ford mustand. It started falling apart after 2 years. My sister had a Ford Tempo. That car went 3 years before falling apart., My dad's first car in the US was a Buick. That car had all sorts of problems. My mom drove a Lincoln Mark 8. FOr a 30,000+ car, it starting breaking down after year 4.
My family has owned over 8 US cars in the past 20 years. I told my dad that we've done enough to support the US car industry and I was going to go with a reliable car.
I bought a Honda Accord in 1998. Still runs like a champ. |

Nothing to do with american workers or even cars, but a horrible design ethic in Detroit. Personally, I think the American auto industry is dead and so there's nothing to worry about when Obama trumps up the American auto industry. At the risk of being hypocritical I'd label it as "necessary political fluff".
Without wasting too much effort typing (already wasted about 5 hours today), I'd just say you're making an issue out of a non issue. Even if Obama modifies/doesn't pass the FTA, the only thing it'll mean for Korea is a Won floating at 1100 versus the ridiculous 960 that was built on an american credit binge. |

Bush Basher's ain't got nothing on the Obama bashing thats going to happen for the next 4 years.
Obama is the President-Elect now. How come we haven't won in Iraq yet? The economy is in bad shape and its all Obama's fault because he's out celebrating his win instead of being at the White House doing his job.
Gas prices are still really high. How come Obama hasn't made gasoline cheaper for Americans yet?
Oh, it'll be a fun 4 years being on the offensive. Give the liberals a taste of their own medicine.
Here's a real one, how come the Nancy Pelosi lead Democrat Congress has done jack squat the past few years? |

And it'll be a fun 4 years ignoring the conservatives who think their bickering and complaining will be taken seriously. |
