My school just did a fire drill and it was kind of weird.
I don't know about you, but when we did fire drills in Canada when I was a kid they were very systematic. As soon as the fire bell went off we knew exactly what to do. We would stand up, line up and as calmly as possible follow the teacher out to the playground to a designated spot.
What I just saw was a free-for-all. Kids were running every which way. Teachers were walking out on their own with no idea where their kids were. The kids just scattered everywhere on the playground. If there ever was a real fire, they'd be in big trouble. Kids would get trampled. Teachers wouldn't have a clue whether all their kids got out.
It's kind of pathetic. Especially, since they knew about this fire drill about four days in advance. In Canada, we never knew when they were coming. |

When kids here a bell they think they are of the hook, and teachers loose control of the kids. |

I'd be wary about participating in a fire drill here. A year or two (or was it 3?) years ago, two of the students' mothers were killed in an escape drill. |

Now I'm scared. We have a fire drill in about a hour. I can imagine the chaos of 1000 middle schooler's trampling each other. Err..
But the chaos honestly isn't a surprise to me. The children in general are out of control and unless a teacher starts to wave a stick in front of them do they behave a little bit. |

Wow, it's happening right now and there's actual ORDER!
All of the students are lining up outside of their class room's, but I don't think they're going to be moving and the teachers are just sitting at our desks. I don't know personally when I hear a fire alarm, I peace out of the building or during my college days continue my shower or sleep. |

Did they all stop to change their shoes before going out side? |
