Has Metallica redeemed their status in the metal world with Death Magnetic?
Death magnetic is the heaviest thing they have put down since And Justice For All....is it too much iron for post 92 Metallica fans? Are they trying to recapture the feeling of Master of Puppets? Does anyone even care anymore?
What does this album say to you? |

I've started it 4 times and haven't gotten halfway through it. It doesn't do it for me.
If I'm going to listen to heavy music, Protest The Hero or Fucked Up is what is on my iPod right now.
Maybe it will grow on me and I'll love it later, like a Tool album that needs a few listens, so I didn't vote in your poll. |

Personally, I like it. It definitely is the heaviest work they have produced since ..And Justice For All. I don't think that they are trying to re-capture anything, I think that they finally decided to listen to their long-time fanbase and return to their roots as a source of inspiration. Its heavy, musically complex, song length is 6+ mins. It did take a few listens thru for it to really grab me, but wow, listen to it regularly these days. |
