Hiya everyone,
I'm considering moving to Chiheung in Seoul. I can't find any info about it in the Rough Guide or on the net. Could anyone please give me a general lowdown on the area? Gyms, bars, attractions etc. That would be most appreciated.

Perhaps the spelling is incorrect.
Shiheung(Siheung)
It's on the subway line.
Look at the Seoul subway map to get an idea of where it is.
Good luck. |

Thanks LGG but I was hoping for a little more info than merely its geographical location. I think it is spelt Siheung but the email they sent me said Shiheung. Right in the SW corner of the city according to the underground map. Anyone been there? |

It's a bit of a dog hole to be frank. |

You did ask about Chiheung.
If Korea needed an enema,
they'd stick the hose up into Siheung.
I spent a week there one afternoon.
Maybe they'll give you a great apartment.
Good luck. |

Shiheung and Siheung, not Chiheung, is southwest of Seoul, and has no subway access, but probably bus access. Better than living farther from Seoul though. |

Definitely where they mean is in Shiheung City, not in Seoul actually - Shiheung Station in Seoul is quite far even by car from Shiheung City - the closest subway would be Sosa, Bucheon, Bupyong or even down in Ansan depending on where you are. It's a wide area.
The Dong (no pun intended) it is in would be more useful. Daeya Dong not by chance? |

I believe the blue line (Line No. 4) extends into parts of Siheung, doesn't it? I'd ask for a specific location and find out if you're close to the subway ... if not, you may be too isolated. |
