also, the mother notes that the letter is more than any other politician has done... and just implies that McCain put pressure on ROK. whether pressure was applied or not is not the focus... it's the simple fact that it is more than any other has done.

so... .0001% of effort to help the mother is about the same as 0% in reality, and I"m sure the mom knows this on some level.

At the same time... .0001% of effort is something for HER to capitalize on in trying to keep fickle media attention.

Tip O'Neill openly said his policy was to dump any letter that came from outside his district straight into the garbage, unopened.

so why on earth did she write to people at their campaign addresses instead of to their official govt offices?

duh!

if you want a govt official to respond officially - you write to them in their office where they do their govt work.

I'm still not believing Mike's mother did this - but if she did - she can be forgiven for her grief - someone that would post this on here tho trying to politicize his death - well - read my other post.

Was this at the time when he was Speaker of the House? I would have thought that, in that capacity, he had a duty to citizens outside of his constituency, beyond what your average schmuck congressman would have.

technically, an official is required to respond to correspondance from constituents. Otherwise they would be derelict in their duty to office.

Candidates on the other hand, respond purely by choice.

All three letters were sent to candidate offices.

Only McCain CHOSE to respond. This speaks more for the type of staff/office/platform the man runs than had he responded from within his official duties of office.

no it doesn't - it's only what someone wants to make it out to be.

again, read my other posts.

this really isn't something to discuss over here in this forum. in fact, it's kinda pathetic, really. Surprised
