Depends on where are you. Some schools like you and treat you good while others are bad for your health.
It's the same at home and every where else with jobs. It's good to have some reserve in the bank so you can vote with your feet when in a bad pinch. |

Respecfully, I gotta completely disagree with this. Can anybody honestly think of any other country where ESL teachers complain about everything (legitimately) as much as they do in Korea? |

I've had much worse jobs in Canada, albeit not teaching jobs. Check out some teaching in Japan or China message boards and you'll find just as many complaints about crap conditions there. As far as I can tell though, there are no message boards that more universally represent the ESL teacher population for those countries as Dave's does for Korea. |

Think this was related to good and bad jobs, not so much ESL jobs. Have to agree, there is a substantial amount of complaining. |

The won is just fine for Kiwis and Aussies too I think. Our currencies have nose dived lately. Sent some money home at 740w to the 1NZD last week. Very nice.

The UnderwaterBob is right in what he said.
I'll add that maybe Korean culture and food are generally unpleasant and it does get old after while and you begin to realize and feel the pain that Korea sucks. Maybe the OP just hates everything about living in Korea and is ready to get a one way ticket out. I think most foreigners don't find Korea to be pleasant, but most cope, grin it, and suck up the unpleasantness for a year or two while a few others are tolerant to it such as those actors, models, editors, and a few who actually love ESL. |
