i've never really used moisturizers or skin care products at all in the past, but my skin gets really dry in the winter here and it takes a toll on my appearance. i have no idea what to use or how to go about using it though (especially since everything on the boxes is in korean), so i'm hoping someone here can help me out. i'm just looking for something basic (i.e. not too expensive) that might help keep my skin from becoming too dry.

any suggestions?

Go to the body shop, they have samples so you can try things out and the names are in English. Also I don't think they have whitening stuff, which is always a risk if you buy something Korean.....

thanks for the suggestions. just to check, are those products (the cetaphil and the body shop ones) okay to use on one's face? or are they body moisturizer type things?

Aveeno is available in Korea now. I love all their products.

I like coconut oil on my face, too. You can get it on GMarket.

Get a little bottle. Go to the Westin Chosun hotel in downtown Seoul. Go to the washrooms in the lower level, near the flower store/bakery. They have free hand lotion. Pump yourself some if no one is in the washroom.

There are about 10 beauty products stores on every street. buy a couple of moisterizers, use the one you like best. how hard is that?

Alternatively, go into a drug store where the druggist apeaks English. tell her your story.

Oil based products like hand lotion and vaseline and chapstick were quite expensive in Korea but prices did seem to come down.

skin food, their moisturiser was the best i found in korea, it was actually so good that i took two bottles back home with me when i left, but i ended up forgetting one of them in japan when i went there before coming home!!!

i really liked their seaweed one, it was excellent and it's in english too, so you know what you are gettingand it only costs about 9,000 won...but i'm a bloke so if you are a girl i wouldn't adivse on the male one Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes but my g.f got her moisturiser there too, she also got some in homeplus (in one of the little meauty parts in the supermarket part) think it was clean and clear and was only about 3,000 won or so

body shop should have both types of products (body and face), as well as all sorts of soaps, masks, foot scrubs, etc.

If you're like me and

1) Have sensitive skin
2) Have very dry skin
3) Have acne
4) Don't mind the sesnation of oil all over your skin

I highly recommend baby oil. It's non-codgemic like cetaphil.
It's easily availble. works great. Leaves your skin so smooth and has long term benefits for your skin.

The real downside is you feel oily as hell and if your skin is real bad, will enhance the blemesihes.

I recommed putting it on before bed.
