Interesting article.
I'm especially struck by the alternating Hamiltonian and Jeffersonian periods. In my opinion the writer was over doing the 72 year cycle, but interesting nonetheless. |

It does seem a bit odd that the cycles would happen to all be roughly the same length. |

Yeah. Something tells me that we can't expect major technological innovations to happen on cue every 72 years. I think that was a weak part of the thesis.
However, the idea of a Hamiltonian activist government style followed by a Jeffersonian backlash might have something to it. I wouldn't mind reading more about the authors' idea. |
