You have three months to take your test once you are over here. A month or so before taking the test wean yourself off the pills, while massively increasing your exercise. Avoid all alcohol and keep yourself busy. You should be fine.
This worked for my brother |

Have you ever forgotten to take your meds?
This would be a rhetorical question for most people with ADD. So, if you didn't have problems then, you aren't likely to have problems if you go off of them for long enough to pass the drug test...and if you drive while not on meds, make sure that your insurance is paid up. We drive better on drugs. |

| For some people with ADHD, myself included, asking us to go off our meds for a month is asking us to be fired for disorganization, lateness, and poor planning. I love how a country can blatantly discriminate against people when they have no ground on rather or not they can teach. I have ADD which means I'm scatter brained, talk alot, and disorganized. This DOES NOT put any children in danger. I seriously hope everything I read on these forums about not getting a visa is false because I would be devastated if I found out this discrimination is indeed true. |

Certainly, there are some things written on these forums that need to be taken with a grain of salt. But the fact of the matter is that there is a required drug test for people who get an E-2 visa. And you should realize that South Korea is not exactly up to par with Western standards when it comes to fair treatment of everyone. So, yes, the potential for discrimination against a foreigner taking ADD medication, is there.
Also, you should be aware that there is not any real medical privacy in South Korea. Hence, if you do decide to work in South Korea, you will need to be very discreet about the fact that you take ADD medication. Otherwise, there will be potential for some unpleasant consequence. For example, in the job forum, there is a thread about someone who is losing his job over taking migraine medication.

On a final note, have you considered working in any other countries besides South Korea? I am not asking you this to discourage you. Rather, it is important to have a good backup plan. Anyways, I have heard that Taiwan is a good alternative to South Korea. Well, I wish you the best of luck. |

| Don't worry OP just don't take any medications the day of test and you'll be fine. Ritalin breaks down in the body really fast so it's doubtful anything will show up on a test provided you don't take any medication at least 12 hours beforehand. |
