I have noticed in Korean dramas that when there is a car chase or other speeding scene, a closeup of the tachometer is shown to emphasize that the car is going fast. I have never seen the speedometer shown to emphasize that the car is speeding. Has anybody else noticed this? I was wondering why they do that? Is it illegal or considered "bad form" to show the speedometer on the drama when the car is going above the speed limit? Or is it just easier to put the car in neutral and film the tachometer while revving the engine instead of actually making the car go that fast. Or maybe they can't actually film the car while speeding because it is against the law to speed even on a closed course/set? This isn't a big deal to me, and it's certainly not a criticism of Korea (so no need to bash me), I have just been curious about this since I first noticed it. Does anybody know the answer? Thanks.
