hi, looking for someone to talk economics, finance and equities with... potential friends will be open-minded but have seriously held opinions on deflation vs inflation, commodities, us trade deficit issues, forex, the bond market, and will be capable of analyzing the balance sheets of prospective companies. you'd know schiff, ritholtz, and roubini...

i see us swapping and cross-examining trading ideas, setting up at a pcbang and trading when new york opens, using each other as a verbal sounding board, maybe decompress afterwards with a late night beer... work by day, play by night....

sounds alright, then PM me,
cheers.

Buy low in bad times and sell high in good times. Easier said than done, unless you have the money and courage to take on risk. Having extra money that you can afford to lose is the key to gaining the courage to take on risk. Like if you were worth 2 million dollars, you could play 1 million in investment activities with the other million in an interest bearing savings account. Generally, guys and gals with a competitive advantage inherited something to give them that first couple or several hundred thousand dollar needed push in life as to have something to work with as jobs don't normally pay enough to allow you to get down to business and have your work and finances cut out by age 40. My 40 year old best friend only has it all due to his rich banker dad giving him a number boosts since high school graduation such as paying for college, getting him a good job, paying his home and business debts, and sponsoring him licensed to be in the real estate appraisal business. This business is the smartest area of finance you could be in as it's good in both high and low times of the economy's cycles. His dad is a smart man who climbed the ladder back in the day when you could actually do that in a bank or company. He started out as a bank teller and 40 years later, he was the president of the same bank. They allowed him opportunity by developing him with cross training and promotions. Companies just don't do it like that today.

Business education is of little value in today's world if you don't have the money to exercise that sort of knowledge or brought on into a great situation by knowing someone. My 40 year old best friend only has a psychology degree from a lower level university while I have a business degree from a high state level university that was very very difficult to achieve due to advanced academics and struggle with personal finances. I didn't find much career opportunity upon graduation like I would had if I fell into a scheme of nepotism. It's not what you know, but who you know when it comes down to money and career. Only when (and if) you get to investing and managing your own company does what you know count in today's world.

I'm interested, I do forex trading as my main trading. It would be cool to take with someone about investments. But I can not do the pcbang trading thing, I have wife and kid but meeting up and talking strategies will be good.
