some places I would look if I were looking to get a game system:
- yongsan electronic market (by sin-yongsan station)
they have a game 'alley' ... right by the cell phone alley and the gps alley
- hi-mart, e-mart, lotte-mart should have them as well
- browse, wait, stake out Dave Esl cafe |

If you get a x-Box 360 here, it will be "region"ed for Korea, just like DVD's from America don't play in many DVD players here due to differences in region.
As such, you will not be able to play College Football or Madden on Korean 360, unless they have a release in this region. I doubt they will, as American football as a whole is not too popular here.
There are options for "modding" a system to play games from any region. The fine folks in the Yongsan Electronics Market game alley will know about that. Research it before you buy it! |

Thanks for the tip. What about buying it in the US and having someone ship it to me? |

Depending on the game, you may be able to get a region-free version online. Play-Asia is awesome for this, and they have a handy chart that shows you which regions a game will play on.
Here's Madden '09 region free:

Incidentally, I'll be posting an ad for my own 360 in a few minutes here, Korean region, unmodded, and with loads of games (no football, though!). |

I just bought a like new Xbox 360 US version online on ebay for $150 plus $40 shipping. I recommend it. It is really the safest bet.
I buy all my games on there except when they are new. In that case, I buy through playasia.com. |

Maybe for a day or so. Live runs consistent "updates" that basically scan and brick your box if it finds any tampering. Don't waste your money.
For certain games, Live can extend the playability and replayability of a game by leaps and bounds. Take CoD 4 for example. I blew through the campaign mode on every difficulty setting in less than a week.
However, once I got into the slick multiplayer stuff online, I couldn't get enough. I played for a good 6 months with people from all over the world until RB6V 2 came out. Rinse, wash, repeat.
Live is where it's at, and is worth the investment for me. |
