Your thread title makes absolutely no sense.

US $586 billion = CNY 4 trillion

That is the size of the Chinese stimulus package.

edit:
Perhaps you meant a CNY 4 trillion (or U$ 586 billion) Chinese stimulus package, given the relative size of the economy, would be equivalent to a U$ 2 trillion stimulus in the United States.

Fail on both points

I think it is valid to point out that China's decision to inject money into their economy was done with actual money. The United States injected money into their economy through debt. This may seem like a technicality but it will come into play down the road in terms of inflation irregardless of whether the currency in China is pegged or not. Debt is debt and we are definitely borrowing to speed up our economy.

So true. Increased debt = increased tax.

It should be highlighted that out of these 500 billion, only 150 come from taxpayer money, the rest will come from state companies as investment projects, and as credit lines from banks.

well, are you talking about purchasing power?

for instance, hiring a construction worker in the States may cost you $25/hour, but only $2/hour in China.

so i would imagine that with $500B in China you can probably do $2T things in the States.
