For those of you wondering what this is about, here is wiki article about it:

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Colloidal_silver

I've read both positive and negative things about this stuff, so I'm not totally convinced that it's a "good thing", but I will say this much;

Last week I was recovering from a flu that just wouldn't leave, I was past the worst, but I had some chest congestion and felt a lack of energy.

I made my own batch of this stuff, drank it and noticed nothing but a weird metalic taste in my mouth.... however, the next day my flu symptoms were all gone. I know this doesn't prove anything, but it does give me some encouragement to keep trying.

Here is a video that got me interested:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mycIKCZjnfg

and another about the dangers of using it too much:

Sounds like it is little more than a weak antibiotic and the flu is viral in nature, so I'd call it a coincidence that your symptoms went away. Also if taking too much of it is dangerous it's probably a good idea to stick to rest and fluids.

If big pharma was putting it in vaccines, people would claim it's toxic. If the homoepath is giving it, people would claim it's the secret cure big pharma doesn't want you to know about. Geez.

The collodial silvers is all well 'n' good until it turns you blue. Literally. Good bye interacting with the opposite sex.

As the poster above notes, it has some anti biotic properties, won't protect you from a virus, and there are safer effective antibiotics so no need to start drinking a metal.

Also don't confuse "flu symptoms" with the actual flu. The actual flu knocks you on your ass for 2-3 days. Feeling a bit pukey and a bit feverish is not the same as having the flu.

Big pharma didn't do this to him.

You were the one who said the dose is the important part, weren't you?

Too much vitamin A is poisonous, so we should be careful with how much vit A we take. The same goes for colloidal silver, I don't plan on taking it every day.

The guy in the video you posted (who is the same guy as in the one I posted earlier) admits that he was taking way too much of this stuff.

Heck, it might be fun being blue. At least briefly.

Do you know what the safe dose is? Do you know how much to take for it to be effective? Beyond anecdotal evidence, how do you know it even works?

I have no intention of becoming the next "papa Smurf".

How do I know? I don't.

That's why I said I'm cautious about trying this.

I took that stuff in India after I got sick. Three months alter I could still taste the stuff. My intuition tells me that stuff is very toxic.

Yeah, but where's the adventure in that?

You want adventure; take some LSD. It's probably just as safe.

Let me suggest you become blue this way:

You take it, and the placebo effect appears to make your illness go away. Or since most illnesses simply get better on their own if you do nothing, you assume the silver did something but it didn't.

You take it again, and the placebo effect fails or you take it at the start (vs) the end of a cold and it doesn't seem to work as well.

So you try more.

Repeat.

You're better off wearing a tin foil hat bro.

Very minor benefit for possible sideshow freak side effects.

Pass.
