Tomorrow is the university entrance exam, so my start time is 30 minutes later than usual.

If you're a public school newb, check with your co-teacher. You might get a half hour of extra sleep tonight!

***Edit: I should have mentioned that I'm in an elementary school. Not as lucky as those middle- and high-school teachers who have the whole day off, but an extra bit of sleep nonetheless.***

So mad, for the past two weeks my co-teachers have been telling me I don't even need to show up tomorrow, but then my head teacher just told me I need to come in tomorrow, even though I'm not teaching.

I really wanted to go to the bank too .. eh, I guess I'll try to ask to leave an hour or hour and a half early then.

We started early and will finish a few hours early today. Tomorrow, I'll get the day off! Some middle school teachers are supposed to go proctor exams at other high schools.

You may even get a day off.

HS teachers cannot supervise Ss from their own school, so teachers will be coming to HSs to supervise. Korean teachers will go to other schools to supervise (+100k), or get a day off.

Today our school has 30 min classes and finishes at after lunch, tomorrow is a day off for teachers not involved in testing.

I'm supposed to be off now... or I was told yesterday. No one tells me anything.

I had one class this morning and then the rest of my classes were canceled because I only teach first year and the they're all gone. The teaching room I'm in has been used as a staging area for student activities, so students gather in here before they onto whatever activity. I want to ask if I can just go home because I'm obviously not needed, but my co-workers are no where to be found and I can't get out of my chair because there are so many students in this office right now (I'm pushed right up against my desk and can't move/stand up).

Hopefully they'll just tell me to scram soon. They let the other foreign teacher go home, or at least I haven't seen her.

I know I don't come in tomorrow.

My middle school is used for these exams. I taught the first class today (Wed.) and am now off for the rest of today (they're 'prepping' the school) and all day tomorrow. Very Happy

I get the day off. But that's because both my schools has a high school and middle school on the same campus. If you work in a stand alone middle school, you might be out of luck and have to work 1 hour later.

I'm at a public middle school. We finish after lunch today (around 1pm) and we have the whole day off tomorrow! Some of my co-workers are proctering the exam at other schools tomorrow and they have to attend prep meetings this afternoon which is why we only work a half day today.

In my middle school, we have no classes this afternoon and the day off tomorrow. A nice bonus day off.

Question

A middle school without a nearby high school (usually on the same campus). Depending on how many teachers are required to proctor for the university entrance exams, the school still may have classes.

I'm at an elementary school... Starting at 10 tomorrow instead of 8:40, and there was mention of pictures being taken so I'm not really even sure of my teaching schedule at this point lol...

Yea, my coteacher (elementary school) told me to come in an hour later than normal. Other than that, I just kinda roll with it when nobody shows up for my classes.

I heard that the majority of the workforce (not just teachers) are to start an hour later tomorrow in order to reduce traffic conjestion for the students sitting the exam.
