So I'm sick of staring at blank walls in my apartment, and I want to fill with stuff to make it more like a home and less like a concrete prison. I would think that all the times I've been downtown that I'd see a shop for posters/murals/paintings/whatever, but either I've been blind or there just weren't any. Does anybody know a good place in Daegu for this, or am I stuck with stuff online?

If you go to the stationery shop under Kyobo books downtown, they sometimes have posters, although they are a little expensive. It's in the basement and across from the record store. Also, there are some art supply shops near Banwoltang Subway station that occasionally have posters as well.

What I did was print out a4 pictures at school, in colour, then laminate them.

Yeah, you may be able to get some stuff at Kyobo downstairs (Hot Tracks)...there's a Japanese anime/manga toy store in there that might also have some stuff...and there's a CD store that might have something...if you walk around the Jungangno subway there are two game stores that might have game posters (really not sure about that) and there's also a print/poster kinda shop right by one of the exits.

In Banwoldang station there is a card-gaming store at the far-end that might sell that kinda thing...there is also another video-game store in there.

Good luck.

What I'd really love to find are movie posters...especially of older movies. I was at Hanil Cinema last night and wanted to steal half of the stuff on the wall.

lol japanese anime...

I knew a guy who had japanese anime scrolls all over his walls and glow in the dark stars over his ceiling. For a girl, that's adorable, for a guy, that's reason to commit hommicide. 3 of us just looked at each other, cracked our knuckles and beat the daylights out of him... We never saw him again after that day. Poor fat phillipino boy.... he was a nice guy. I miss college...

I'll check these out. I'd like to have a set of backup sailor moon scrolls for my apartment the next time I want my people coming over thinking I get a fair share of fruit loops all hours of the day.

Well, honestly adults don't really have posters so we'd be shopping for kids anyways. What am I gonna expect looking at posters? Motivational sucess posters? No, Probably "Big Bang" "FT Island" or "Hello Kitty"

No hope of finding decent decorations for an adult. You might be able to find Chinese calligraphy scrolls around somewhere. I'm looking for one myself but with Japanese meanings like "Satori" or "Zen".

As for actual movie posters... It might not hurt to ask them if they have spares, although I'd think some other expats might have beat you to the punch.

If all else fails, you could surround yourself with plants. If I wasn't so lazy to water a botanical garden apartment would be a rocking idea. Think about how healthy that would be for your lungs and eyes waking up every morning to a lush garden all around you. You could buy some fountains and one of those moving wall light posters that have a waterfall coming down. That's assumign you're gonna be in Korea for a while. Expensive investment.
