Everyone already knows that Busan has a lot of great trad and sport climbing. The problem is that the major crags get pretty crowded on the weekend.

Since bouldering has yet to catch on in Korea, a small group of climbers from Busan have begun finding new areas to boulder in and around Busan. None of it has ever been climbed before so almost every thing is a first ascent at this point. We will be heading out almost every weekend to different areas, and we will be doing some early morning trips on weekdays from time to time too (for those that work evenings). If you're not sure what bouldering is it's basically climbing shortish boulders and cliffs without rope, but with pads and spotters instead. You don't think about or mess with any gear. You simply focus on climbing movemt in one of it's purest forms. Falling is expected and if you don't fall off of something a few times before you get it then it wasn't hard enough.


Korea on the Rocks also has a full listing of the climbing gyms in the area to help you get started. I'd post a link, but every time I try on here my post never clears the mods.
