I'm pretty happy with my current job. I think I found it through Dave's or Work 'n Play, though I can't really remember. It was a fluke gettin it. The person they hired backed out and they desperately needed someone the next Monday, so I was able to negotiate a good salary and low hours.

I was curious about how other teachers found their current positions and if they were satisfied. I imagine a lot of other people got their jobs from this website, but the jobs I've seen posted look pretty crappy. I know I ignored 99.9% of the ads I saw. It took me about a month to find something, and I really just lucked out.

Just a quick survey.

How did you find your job?

I found mine through the teacher working in my current position. I happened to know him a little bit. I trusted his word. I took the position. It is a damn good hagwon position.

I applied to several of the PS recruiters that advertise on 'Dave's' (some I had ruled out) and used the one who got me what I wanted.

My future wife told me that her school needed an FT so I asked her to get in touch with my recruiter @ the time to set it up. My recruiter was Think Big recruiting.

I work elementary PS and I find the job okay I guess - you do what you can when you only see each class for 40mins a week. We live in Hwaseong which is a total dump so stick to a major city if you can! We waste a lot of time commuting to Suwon/Seoul which can be a annoying at times.

I was researching different universities so that I could make a proposal to my (then) university to give us a raise. I looked at the best I found in my researching and decided that even if I was successful in getting a raise at my then university, it wouldn't be as good as the pay at the new university. Also, the new university gives yearly cost of living raises as well as performance raises, so I thought I should make the move.

So I put together a portfolio and applied out of application season. They told me that they weren't accepting applications and I told them that it was no problem, I'd be back the next month to give them a new package, which I did. They started hiring. I got the job.
