Hey ttompatz, I am sure many are wondering, and maybe you answered this in another post, but, will you still be glancing over these forums while sipping pinacoladas on your beachfront pad in the Philippines offering advice, or are you calling No Joy?
Just curious. |

So... it's OK to ask him questions if he IS a transvestite? |

Internet connectivity may be an issue so I won't be on-line as much.
I will also be "out of the loop" so to speak so being able to give accurate and timely advice may not be so possible either.
For the record and for the most part, I have enjoyed my time in Korea and I am not leaving mad or particularly disillusioned.
I have met some really great people here (on-line and in Korea) and I have been the recipient of more than my share of random acts of kindness during my sojourn. It is with mixed feelings that I leave Korea.
I am a bit angry at some immigration policies but that is another story (see my posts about trying to obtain my F5).
Most of all, it is just time for me to move on. The global economy is headed for a rough time so I can't think of any reason to stay to weather the storm. I have the ability to sit it out in comfort so that is what I intend to do.
As to returning here, I honestly don't know. You are more likely to find me putting in my 2 pesos worth of advice on one of the Philippine expat forums.

The wife and I bought 15 acres on Bohol last year.... south of the typhoon belt and within easy reach of Cebu for those things that aren't always available in the province.
time to sit in the shade of our mango trees, eating bananas and watching our coconuts grow.

You could open a "Korean only" English training program. Here's what you can do Tom...throw some grass down on five of those acres. Then throw up some of those golf flags, advertise the school as a golf English getaway and make them pay before they arrive. Non refundable of course. You can put up a couple of signs that say "Korean restaurant" and such...
I can see them rolling in now... |

if tthompatz told me the world was flat, i would believe him. I was actually under the impression that it was not a person, just an all knowing entity. It's the only person i would blindly listen to despite my better judgement. He has helped me out numerous times without ever knowing it and it will be a sad day when he know longer posts on this forum.
Thank you very much for you seemingly endless knowledge of all things korea |

Never say never, man, life's too short to rule out possibilities.
