What do you folks think of this idea?

For every student YOU introduce to the school, you receive 15-20% of their monthly tuition from the hagwon.

Would you be more inclined to "help" the school out with enrollment? How hard would you work to help with the "sales and marketing" aspect of the hagwon? Would you be more enthusiastic about working for that particular hagwon...hence improve your attitude about teaching?

Thanks for your comments.

I'd be happy to take the cut of tuition, but whenever my boss complains about enrollment, I can't help but wonder what that really has to do with me. There really isn't much I can do to help out with enrollment, it's the boss' responsibility to do the advertising and selling to the parents.

What can I realistically do to help with marketing aside from standing outside the local elementary schools handing out fliers?

News of good teachers spreads. Bosses blame the teachers because a good teacher will not lose students and parents will bring in more students if their kids are learning and having fun.

hmm....

how about "promo esl-teachers"...dancing in front of the hagwon?

seriously, i'd imagine foreigners would have more visibility when marketing since koreans would be more inclined to listen. no? also, on average, foreigners, being in their 20's-30's, are more into the social thing than most hagwon owners...hence more exposure to prospective students.
